PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic market investigating method and device for acquiring the information of the whole market based on actural transaction information without burdening an investigator. SOLUTION: Inter-enterprise transaction information is transmitted from a transaction information transmitting terminal 230 to a transaction information receiving terminal 240 through a network. A relay storing part 180 in a server 220 relays the transaction information to the terminal 240 and stores the transaction information also in a transaction information data base 160. A receiving part 110 receives a market investigation request from a market investigation terminal 250 and an item selection part 120 refers to a knowledge data base 125 and develops the general name of a commodity included in the market investigation request to a corresponding individual code. A retrieving part 130 retrieves the data base 160 and extracts transaction information concerned and a totalization/edition part 140 totalizes and edits the extracted information to prepare a market investigation result and an output part 150 transmits the investigation result to the terminal 250.
