The semiconductor regulator produces a constant DC voltage output (Ua) without input current distortion from a variable DC input voltage or rectified AC voltage (Ue), including at least one circuit arrangement (13) with at least one input step-up converter having a commutation group, a bridge arrangement, and a transformer (24) with output rectifiers (27) connected between an input inductance (11) and an output capacitor (12). The strew inductance of the transformer and the capacitors of an intermediate circuit of the input step-up converter are in resonance, excited through a phase-adjusted control of at least one valve (17) of the step-up converter, and at least one valve (21) of a half-bridge arrangement or two valves (21) of a full-bridge arrangement.
