FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular, production of alloys for deoxidation, alloying and modification of steel, including rail steel. SUBSTANCE: alloy includes, wt.%: silicon, 40-65; calcium, 8-30; titanium, 0.1-1.0; iron the balance. In this case Al:Ti:Ca ratio is 1:(0.1-0.3):(3-12), respectively. The alloy may additionally contain 3-14 wt.% of vanadium instead of some part of iron. Introduction of vanadium into alloy composition results in additional improvement of all characteristics. EFFECT: improved mechanical properties of steel; increased yield of qualitative metal. 2 cl, 2 tbl
