A mobile machine (10) having a main frame (12), and first and second auxiliary frame assemblies (18, 20) on opposite sides of the main frame (12). The auxiliary frame assemblies (18, 20) each support the front and rear wheels of the machine (10), and a laterally-extending support beam (46) is intermediate the front and rear wheels for supporting the auxiliary frame assemblies (18, 20) on the main frame (12). First and second end racks (64, 66) are at opposite ends of the laterally extending support beam (46), and first and second pinion assemblies (74, 76) are mounted respectively to the first and second auxiliary frame assemblies (18, 20) intermediate the front and rear wheels. Each pinion assembly (74, 76) mates with one of the racks (64, 66), whereby each auxiliary frame assembly (18, 20) may be moved relative to the main frame (12) by moving the pinion along the rack (64, 66).
