Method of producing rectangular wooden beam with central hole

The beam (1) consists of four or two single elements (5,3). The sloping parts (4) form the hole (2). The single elements are cut or profiled before or after drying, and the are glued into the shape required in a dry or wet condition. The single elements are produced from the middle parts of a round piece of wood (6). The sloping part is placed near the core of the round log. The middle piece is profiled with a V-shaped slant. The profiled elements for the majority of their cross-section have a year-ring running from one side to the opposite side.
