Maxwell term error compensation method

The method includes the steps of producing an RF excitation pulse and a section selection gradient which cooperates with the RF excitation pulse for providing a spin in a section in a distance to an iso-centre, i.e. focus point, of the system. A selection gradient is produced, whose polarity is changed for the production of a corresponding sequence of magnetic resonance gradient echo signals. A phase coding gradient is produced for coding individual locations of the magnetic resonance gradient echo signals. A compensation gradient is generated, which compensates a Maxwell phase produced in the magnetic resonance gradient echo signals through the alternating selection gradients. The magnetic resonance gradient echo signals are recorded and an image is reconstructed from the signals.
