<p>Object of the present invention is to provide a rotary engine, which consists of a rotary drum, which has recesses wherein slide vanes which are pushed against a freely rotating cylinder because the centrifugal force. The said cylinder rotates inside a stationary casing, creating together with the moving vanes a compression space and an expansion space. At the end of the expansion space and at the beginning of the compression space takes place scavenging of the expanded gas by means of an air pump. Through the scavenging under air surplus the cooling of the moving parts is achieved. In this way the necessary procedures for the embodiment of the thermodynamic cycle, by which the thermal energy is converted to mechanical, are achieved in the engine, that is to say compression, combustion, expansion, scavenging and discharge of exhaust gases, cooling of the moving parts, reintroduction of new air or fuel-air mixture are achieved. The whole arrangement rotates by means of a shaft which is seated by means of ball bearings on side walls, which have ceramic elements for the balancing of the high temperatures. This ceramic material does not come into mechanical contact with none of the moving parts. The invention is able to operate as internal combustion engine, external combustion engine, expander, compressor and pump. Special reference is being made to its ability to operate as a high temperature expander, fact which has a result, the achievement of high efficiency thermal engines.</p> |
