PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make shorter the time required to manufacture a vacuum double structure under a predetermined degree of vacuum by efficiently heating the structure. SOLUTION: In the manufacture of a vacuum double structure (vacuum bottle 1) wherein after a space S enclosed by component members (inner bottle 2, outer bottle 3) is exhausted through an exhaust hole 8 formed in the component members, the hole 8 is sealed, a metal film (metal foil 4) is provided on the surface on the vacuum side of any one of the component members (inner bottle 2, outer bottle 3) to prevent radiant heat, and the space S enclosed by the component members is exhausted from the side of the member on which the metal film is provided, while the member is being heated at a temperature of 100-600 deg.C.
