Current supply

The current supply supplies a current from a high to a low temperature level. The current supply has two partial systems. The first uses a normal conductor to bring the current to an average temperature level. The second brings the current to the low level. A supraconductive element (3) which carries the current is provided between two contact members (2,6). A safety conductor (5) is connected in parallel to the supraconductive element (3). In the case of a defect in the current carrying element (3) the safety conductor (5) takes on its function. The safety conductor (5) is made of supraconductive material. A switch (4) may be associated with the safety conductor (5). This switch may be an active switch or a temperature sensitive element. Alternatively it may be a current strength dependent element or a contact resistance dependent element.
