The gearwheel has two or more circumferentially toothed gearwheel elements (1,3). The teeth (6) of at least one element are elastically designed so that, during engagement of the meshing gearwheel, at least from a certain transferred torque, the circumferential displacement of the torque-transferring tooth relative to the other gearwheel element tooth (7) is lifted at least in part through deformation. At least one gearwheel element is made of metal material. The two gearwheel elements can have the same diameter at the head circle. The gearwheel element with the deforming teeth can have smaller diameter at the foot circle.
