The invention relates to a seat which can be converted into a bed, the seat and back rest upholstery of which are connected to each other by a mounting having a four-bar joint, by means of which the seat upholstery (1, 5) can be swung upwards, thus giving access to a bedclothes area (9) in the furniture frame. The mounting also makes it possible to move the seat and back rest upholstery into a common horizontal position. A locking arm (10) having a catch (11) and a ratchet (13) co-operates with a peg (12) holding the seat upholstery (1, 5) in its raised position. In order to ensure smooth functioning, the locking arm (10) is coupled to the rear link (6) of the four-bar joint and the peg (12) is fastened to the seat upholstery (1, 5). |
