The invention relates to a method of controlling cooling aggregates in which two or more compressors (1, 2) are parallelly joined and in which the power output of said compressor is regulated by a control system according to the amount of output required. Additionally, the invention relates to the aggregate machinery necessary to execute the method. In accordance with the invention, the method requires that at least one compressor (2) be controlled by a frequency transformer in order to regulate the power output of the compressor in steps. In accordance with the invention, the aggregate includes at least one frequency transformer which is joined to at least one compressor (2) in order to regulate its power output without steps.
