PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a heat radiating amount and the power consumption at the time of stripping work by forming a heater for heating the terminal part of an optical fiber to be tubular. SOLUTION: A heating type optical fiber coating stripper 1 is mainly provided with a stripper main body 2, a holder supporting part 3, a heater 4 a heater cover 5 and a pair of blades 6. The heater 4 is formed to be tubular but not planar and is heated by inserting the terminal part 12 of an optical fiber 7 protruded from a fiber holder 10. The heater 4 is an electric heater and, concretely speaking, is composed by winding an electric heater wire such as a nichrome wire outside of a metallic tube. In this case, the cross section of heater 4 is circular. Consequently, since the heater 4 is formed to be tubular in the stripper 1, the exposed part becomes minimum and, since the heat radiating amount per a single stripping work and the thermal capacity are decreased, the power consumption is suppressed. |
