<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a blind person to sense data from an object that appears on a graphic screen and to use related functions. SOLUTION: This device has a Braille device 3 which is provided with a key pad 4 that acquires Braille characters and a feel Braille indicator 5. The Braille indicator consists of a string of Braille cells 7 which can be changed to read screen display data and a string of interactive keys 6 which are separately arranged upper from the cells 7 and correspond to the cells 7. Each interactive key 6 corresponds to a function that is related to a position in a word of a character that is shown on the cells 7, and the corresponding interactive key 6 changes a function when a word is replaced along Braille display. The method in which the function always corresponds to the same character position in a displayed word regardless of length and a position in a cell string makes it possible to allocate a function to a character of a word that is not displayed yet.</p> |
