A tree-shaker comprises a humanlyportable vibrator 1 equipped with detachable means 3 enabling it to be attached to the trunk or branch 5 of a tree. The detachable means may include a hook 4 and a harness 6 may be provided for attachment of the device to a human operator. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the harness is replaced by a pulley and counterweight enabling the device to be suspended from the branch of a tree.
