Roof fitting for special vehicle

The movable frame of the sliding roof panel is provided with holes for securing bolts to fit a reinforcing panel (1) which supports a frame (3) which is pressed onto the roof contour around the roof panel. The frame has an upper surface (4) which supports the various roof fittings for the special vehicle e.g. a light bar for an emergency vehicle. The frame of the sliding panel is fitted with holes and captive nuts to take the fitting. It is fitted to the vehicle in the normal assembly line enabling the additional fittings to be applied when the vehicle rolls off the end of the line. When the vehicle is no longer required for special use a normal sliding roof panel can be fitted.
