PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film or sheet which can be converted into biodegradable film or sheet excellent in water absorbency by compounding a crosslinked polysuccinimide with a plasticizer. SOLUTION: The crosslinked polysuccinimide may be a copolymer contg. units derived from other monomers (e.g. an aminocarboxylic acid), too. Though not specifically limited, this compsn. may further contain other additives. Pref., the sheet is prepd. by using another water-absorbent resin (e.g. a resin having the backbone formed from polyaspartic acid), if necessary. The amt. of the plasticizer compounded is pref. 0.01-70 wt.%, though not specifically limited. An example of the plasticizer is sorbitol. A crosslinker needed for producing a crosslinked polycarboximide is e.g. a polyamine. The solvent used in the production is e.g. N,N-dimethylformamide. The polysuccinimide used pref. has a wt. average mol.wt. of 30,000 or higher. |
