A trial printing sheet (7) is fed into a control printer (3) so that one side is printed with text and/or images based on digital information received by a control unit (10) associated with the printer. The sheet is then reversed to print the other side with text and/or images created by typesetting (9) controlled by digital information received by the control unit. A check carried out visually or using other techniques is made on the two printed sides (8), to make sure the typesetting is correctly positioned and that the type-setting for both sides is in accordance with each other. Any deviations from the desired type-setting is corrected and a further control print is made. Typesetting is used to print a number of sides of text and/or images onto sheets of paper (7) or similar material using a control printer or plotter provided with a paper sheet storage unit (4) and sheet feed unit (7). An Independent claim is also included for the control printer used for the trial printing.
