<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve a shock transmitted to the grip of a golf club in hitting a ball. SOLUTION: A shock relieving member 8 having a void percentage of 5 to 40% with respect to the entire volume of the gap A is set in a shock relieving gap A defined in rear of a hitting surface 5a of a head 4, so as to be movable in a substantially longitudinal swing direction. A swing toward a golf ball 7 allows the shock relieving member to move rearward, and upon hitting of the ball, the shock relieving member impinges at a high speed upon a wall surface in rear of a hitting surface within the shock relieving gap A, thereby it is possible to relieve a shock upon hitting.</p> |
