PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit a packet whose time base is not correct only in a corresponding packet and to avoid affecting time axis restoration processing of a subsequent reproduction bit stream when the time base of a packet that includes an error caused in the process of RECORDING and reproduction and not correctable. SOLUTION: An error flag adding circuit 3 adds a flag bit which shows the state of an error that occurs in the packet data to each reproduced MPEG transport stream packet, and an error flag identifying circuit 7 checks the state of the flag bit at the time of reproduction. When an error correction code block that include the MPEG transport stream packet shows that it is impossible to correct, base axis restoration processing using the time stamp of the packet is not carried out. |
