PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical receiver that does not deteriorate the SNR even when a reception band width of a light receiving device is narrow in the optical transmission system adopting the FM simultaneous modulation system for subcarrier multiplex signals. SOLUTION: A receiver is provided with a light receiving device 1 that receives an optical signal resulting from applying light intensity modulation to an FM modulation signal obtained by applying simultaneous FM modulation to a subcarrier multiplex signal through an optical fiber transmission line, converts the optical signal into an FM modulation signal and provides an output, a frequency multiplier 2 that multiplies a frequency of the FM modulation signal outputted from the light receiving device 1, and an FM demodulator 3 that applies FM demodulation to an output signal from the frequency multiplier 2 and provides an output of a subcarrier multiplex signal. |
