The coupling, e.g. for a steering column assembly (1) and bodywork (2), consists of a hollow rod (9) with a lever (15) at one end to rotate it, fitting through holes (7,8) in one component (1) and engaging with forked projections (10,11) on the other with apertures of varying width. The hollow rod has a flattened cross-section giving it larger and smaller dimensions, so that when it is rotated by the lever it locks inside the forks. The rod can be made from cut and rolled sheet metal or from a moulded plastics material, and it has an elastic tongue to engage with a notch in one fork. |
