PURPOSE: To enhance the security-check function of a disk-using game device by monitoring the open or closed state of a disk drive even in a game control executable state in which security check is undone and, if the disk drive is determined to be open, restoring a state in which identification of the kind of disk and security check are required. CONSTITUTION: The main CPU of a TV game device main body also performs the function of constantly monitoring the open or closed state of a disk drive. The disk drive drives a CD-ROM disk or a music CD disk to read information from the disk, and includes a sub-CPU for identifying the kind of disk and for performing security check. Further, security codes that serve as the reference of the security check are stored. When the security check at the sub-CPU is made sure, the main CPU starts to operate. The main CPU checks to see whether or not a tray has been opened and, if it is open, restores a state in which security check is performed again. |
