PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove loose fiber from the end edge of a groove by means of particulates by sand-blasting a template and a friction facing by means of the particulates, for removing groove parts from a friction facing, and removing surplus fiber material from the surface of the friction facing. SOLUTION: A nozzle 35 jets a flow of particulates 36 against a template 31, fixed grooves 18 fit to the grooves 32 of the template are formed, and undesirable material is removed from the blank 30 of a friction facing, until desirable outer circumferences 20, 22 prescribed by the outer circumference of a friction facing part 13 are obtained. At this point of time, the template assembly is inverted up and down so as to form the friction facing 13 on the opposite side. The nozzle 35 jets particulates 36 such as sand blast particulates against a template 41, so as to remove undesirable projected fiber 25. Hereby, grooves previously formed of the friction facing 24 are made clean or defined. There particulates remove loose fiber together with projected lining material.
