<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new acoustic touch detector for detecting a touch position. SOLUTION: This acoustic touch detector is provided with a substrate (propagation medium) 1 having a display area 2 and a surface, on which surface waves or board waves can be propagated, and acoustic wave transducers (piezoelectric vibrators) 4a and 4b for generating bulk waves in this substrate 1 and propagating these waves through this substrate 1 along with the axis crossing its surface. The energy of bulk waves is coupled with waving propagated along with the surface while having a waving mode converted by refraction acoustic wave mode couplers (gratings) 5a and 5b while being equipped with much energy on the surface. This device can also include series of deffusion centers for coupling the bulk waves with Rayleigh waves or board waves. The Rayleigh waves or board waves are deffusion over the whole range of substrate and analyzed for detecting disturbance showing the position of touch.</p> |
