Shift control apparatus for continuously-variable transmission

Sensors 6 - 9 detect operating conditions of the engine 1 and the continuously variable transmission 2. A controller 5 stores different shift maps and employs one of them according to a driver's command (shift selector 10) or vehicle driving condition. The controller 5 decides a target value of the input rotation speed (N e ) of the transmission from the output rotation speed (N o ) of the transmission and the load condition (TVO) of the engine on the basis of the shift map and continuously changes the transmission ratio so that the input rotation speed is adjusted to the target value. The controller changes the shift speed indicative of a time period of a ratio changing operation, according to a driver's command.
