A hand tool machine, in particular a drilling and/or striking hammer, is provided with a machine housing 21 which surrounds a gear space 20 of the hand tool machine, in which structural parts requiring lubrication, such as, for example, pinions, gear wheels and the like, are accommodated. The machine housing 21 has at least one pressure compensating opening 29, 30 leading to the gear space 20, which opening is formed by a vent body 26 which has a plurality of vent chambers 281 to 284 lying one downstream of the other in flow direction, which are connected to one another by vent holes 311 to 313.
