PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reducing method of the molten stainless steel capable of preventing the bumping by effectively suppressing generation of CO gas during the reducing reaction, and excellently keeping the productivity. SOLUTION: In a reducing method of the stainless steel in which a dipping pipe 12 is immersed in the molten steel 13 containing chromium to be kept in a ladle 11, oxygen gas is blown against the molten steel in the evacuated dipping pipe to perform the oxidation refining to decarburize carbon in the molten steel, and then, aluminum is charged in the molten steel in the dipping pipe to reduce chromium oxide in the slag generated during the oxidation refining into chromium, the factors of the reducing condition such as the temperature, the composition concentration, and the atmospheric pressure of the molten steel 13 in the reduction refining are measured or estimated in advance, the free energy changeΔG in the carbon monoxide gas generating reaction in which carbon in the molten steel 13 is reacted with the chromium oxide to generate carbon monoxide gas and chromium is calculated, and the reduction refining is performed with the factors of reducing conditions to keep the free energy changeΔG at positive value.
