<p>A powdery material sterilizing apparatus adapted to sterilize a powdery material, such as a powder of a herb medicine or a powder of spice, with ultraviolet rays. The sterilizing apparatus comprises a compressor for producing a gas flow in a piping passage (14) and an ejector (8) for supplying a powdery material into the gas flow to produce a solid-gas two-phase flow. Sterilization cylinders (9) are connected to the piping passage (14) so that such a solid-gas two-phase flow is produced therein. Ultraviolet-ray sterilization lamps (19) are provided in these sterilization cylinders (9). The sterilized solid-gas two-phase flow discharged from the sterilization cylinders (9) is separated into the powdery material and a gas flow in a cyclone (10), whereby the powdery material is efficiently sterilized.</p> |
