FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, more particularly melting and deoxidation of vanadium-alloyed steel. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises tapping metal into ladle, adding deoxidizing agents, vanadium containing material for vanadium microalloying and final metal refining. Deoxidizing agents include materials having affinity to oxygen greater than manganese has, 30 to 50% of deoxidizing agents essential for melting operation are added during tapping of metal into ladle. The remaining amount is added to vanadium containing material in crushed or granulated form. Amount of vanadium containing material is determined depending on chemical composition and desired vanadium concentration in final steel product. Final metal refining is accomplished till ratio of concentrations of vanadium and phosphorus in slag and metal of 4 to 100 in achieved. Vanadium containing material includes converter vanadium slag resulting from duplex and monoprocesses, primary open hearth furnace slag both in solid and liquid state. The present invention makes it possible to manufacture vanadium-microalloyed steel without using vanadium alloys and master alloys, increase vanadium recovery coefficient and improve quality of metal. EFFECT: improved properties of the vanadium-microalloyed steel. 3 cl, 2 ex
