PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load in an image forming part where recording to a recording material is not executed, when a one-face recording mode is obtained and to suppress the acceleration of the wearing of image carriers, a failure in cleaning, etc., in a both-side image forming device having image forming parts provided to correspond to both sides of the recording material respectively. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a first image forming part 1 which corresponds to one side of the recording material 4 and for forming a first image T1 on the image carrier 1a, a second image forming part 2 which corresponds to the other side of the recording material 4 and for forming a second image T2 on the image carrier 2a and a transfer means 3 for transferring the images T1 and T2 formed by the image forming parts 1 and 2 to the surfaces of the recording material 4 respectively. In such a case, the device is further provided with a load reducing means 5 for decreasing the load on the image forming part 2 or 1 where a recording action for the recording material 4 is not executed, on the condition that the one-face recording mode by the first or second image forming part 1 or 2 is selected. |
