PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate large tension variation caused when a coated optical fiber is dropped into an SZ groove. SOLUTION: When the coated optical fiber 3 is dropped into the SZ groove 2 while the core 1 with the SZ groove is sent at a constant speed, the phase angle of this SZ groove 2 is detected at a distance of an integral multiple of the pitch (p) of the SZ groove 2 at a dropping-in point. Then the coated optical fiber 3 is sent naturally and forcibly by turns in the same cycles with cycles T where the phase angle varies from a maximum and a minimum value. |
