PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a failure in communication caused by deterioration in connector contacts and to realize the prevention with a more inexpensive connector by making the processing of a jammed sheet possible without removing a communication connector between a process cartridge with a built-in memory and a printer body. SOLUTION: This device is provided with the process cartridge 13 having a nonvolatile memory 28 and an electrical contact 29 connected to the nonvolatile memory, an upper door 30 which can be opened/closed in a holding state of the cartridge 13, a guiding rail 31 which is provided to the upper door 30 and for attaching/detaching the cartridge 13 to a direction different from opening/closing directions and an electrical contact 33 which is connected to a control part 32 of a printer and fixed to the abovementioned opening/closing member. The respective contacts 29 and 33 are connected by attaching the cartridge 13 to the guiding rail 31. Even when the upper door 30 is opened, a jam can be processed in the state that the contacts 29 and 33 are left to be connected each other. |
