PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable detecting of sheet size without depending on fluctuation of a conveying speed of a sheet. SOLUTION: In this device, along a conveying route of a sheet P, two sensors 7, 8 are arranged, also between the two, from a conveying speed of the sheet and detection time of one sensor 7, size of the sheet P is discriminated. Here, a space 1 between the two sensors 7, 8 is set to a space longer than an A4 size and longer than a letter size in English, in the timing detecting the sheet P by the sensor 8 in the downstream, a detection condition of the sensor 7 in the upstream is viewed, the sheet, when it is detected, is judged as the letter size in English, when not detected, as the A4 size. |
