PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image having excellent optical fastness by a rapid ink jet printer by forming the image on a recording medium having a mordant layer containing polymer mordant of a specific amount of a unit to be represented by a predetermined formula on a support. SOLUTION: Ink containing dye represented by a formula I [R<1> , R<2> each indicates alkyl group, heterocyclic group, (n) indicates 1 or 2, A indicates a formula II (R<3> , R<4> , R<5> , R<6> each indicates a hydroxyl group, alkyl group) and B indicates -CH=CH] is prepared. Meanwhile, a recording medium obtained by laminating one or more mordant layers each containing polymer mordant of 60mol% or more at a unit represented by a formula III (R<1> to R<4> indicates H, alkyl group, L indicates a bivalent linkage group, and (p) indicates 0 or 1) is formed on a support. The prepared ink is printed by ink jet on the medium to form an image having excellent optical fastness. |
