Improvement in comfortableness and energy saving are achieved by exhibiting a capacity in response to respective demands of a plurality of rooms. A refrigerating system for a multiple room type air conditioning apparatus is constructed such that compressor capacity control means for calculating a compressor capacity every predetermined period using data obtained from temperature difference calculating means, capacity storage means, on-off judging means and load constant storage means and controlling a capacity of a variable capacity compressor on the basis of a result of the calculation, and means for recognizing the number of indoor machines operated with the aid of the on-off judging means are provided, whereby a control formula for capacity control of the compressor is changed on the basis of the number of indoor machines operated.
