PURPOSE:To prevent camber due to the nonuniformity of temp. distribution by confronting the inclined compression range of at least one die of a pair of right and left dies with a part of the inclined compression range of the other die and confronting the compression range of the edging surface of the other die with a part of the edging surface of one die. CONSTITUTION:The whole of the inclined compression range B2 of at least one die 2 of a pair of the right and left dies 1, 2 with edging surfaces 1a, 2a parallel to the side face 3a of the slab 3 and inclined planes 1b, 2b where are spreaded upstream in the direction S of transporting line from the edging surfaces 1a, 2a is confronted with a part of the inclined compression range B1 of the other die 1. And, by moving the compression range A1 of the edging surface 1a of the other die 1 in the direction S of transporting line within the range where is confronted with a part of the edging surface 2a of the one die 2 and executing edging, the elongation in the direction S of transporting line on the end parts in the width direction of the slab 3 is equalized and the generation of camber due to the nonuniformity of temp. distribution in the width direction of the slab 3 is prevented. |
