PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce probability that a device is fatally damaged when an unexpected situation is caused. SOLUTION: An electronic camera is provided with different storage parts which are independently managed, and image data and system data are individually stored. When data to be stored at the time of an operation are designated (SA1), an ID indicating the kind of data is decided (SA2), and the data are temporarily stored with the decided ID (SA3). Whether the data are picture data or system data is judged based on the decided ID (SA4), and when the data are the picture data, the data are stored in one storage part, and when the data are the system data, the data are stored in the other storage part (SA5 and SA6). At the time of the storing operation of the image data, a storing operation to the other storing part which is managed independently of one storage part in which the image data are stored is inhibited. At the time of an unexpected situation, the system data can be protected even when the picture data are destroyed by the interruption of the storing operation. |
