PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothe drying device in which when a wash-line pole is stored, the pole cannot be seen from below and a ceiling has a good appearance. SOLUTION: A storage recess 2, which is open downward, is provided in a ceiling 1 and an extendible supporting arm 3 is provided in the ceiling 1 so that it can be extended from the recess 2 or retracted into the recess 2. A clothes line or rod 4 is mounted to the lower end of the arm 3 through a pole supporting plate 22 and doors 11, which can be opened and closed, are swingably mounted to the recess 2 and an engaging piece 7 having an L-shaped cross section is provided at the rear side of each door 11, and if the clothesliner or rod 4 is lowered from within the recess 2, the pieces 7 fixed to the pole 4 or the plate 22 are disengaged, whereupon the doors 11 are opened, and if the clothesline or rod 4 suspended from the ceiling 1 is moved upward and stored in the recess 2, the pieces 7 are engaged with the pole 4 or the plate 22 so that the doors 11 are closed. |
