The clutch mechanism consists of a pressure plate (2), a diaphragm (4) and a cover (5,8) by the intermediary of which the clutch mechanism is designed to be fixed to the reaction plate of the clutch. The cover (5,8) is connected to the pressure plate (2) by a flexible connecting strip (6) to allow the axial movement of the pressure plate (2) whilst able to rotate. The diaphragm (4) reacts against a support (51) on the cover (5,8) to presses on the boss (21) of the pressure plate (2). The cover is of a hollowed out form and is connected to an external peripheral skirt (82,92-182,90) axially orientated which is characterised in that the skirt is in two coaxial parts (82,92-182,90) mounted to telescope one in relation to the other and then fixed after adjusting so that the distance between the support (51) and the reaction boss (21) is variable to accommodate the parameters in the functioning of the clutch. |
