Milk skimming vessel in which cream overflows when level is raised

Apparatus for skimming cream (1) from milk (2) consists of a static skimming vessel (10). Milk is pumped into the base of the vessel (12) and allowed to settle. When a variable volume device (30), situated near the base of the vessel, is inflated, the cream (1) overflows into a collection funnel held in place by radial supports (41). Cream also overflows the sides of the vessel, both routes leading to an outlet pipe (22a). Skimmed milk is removed from its inlet point (12).
