PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacture which permits an alkaline secondary battery with excellent batter characteristics to be manufactured in a short time, and the alkaline secondary battery with excellent battery characteristics manufac tured thereby. SOLUTION: This method consists of a series of processes for manufacture of an alkaline secondary battery which involve storage of a group of electrode plates having a positive electrode plate formed by adding bivalent cobalt compound, a separator, and a negative electrode plate, into an armored can, filling of the armored can with alkaline electrolyte, battery assembly by sealing the opening of the armored can, and activation for an assembled battery, whereas at least the temperature of the group of electrode plates is maintained at 30 to 60 deg.C in all of a series of processes. |
