Peephole for an armoured vehicle

The loophole is in an outer panel (2) which forms part of a vehicle window. An inner armoured metal panel (5) can be removed from a holder (4) and is fixed to the outer panel by adhesive. The holder comprises a supporting skirt (11) with an extension collar (12) which has at least one groove to receive the inner panel, and is fitted into a recess (10) in the vehicle window, made e.g. from layers of armoured glass. The collar is made with a series of recesses which receive projections on the edge of the inner panel so that it can be fixed in place by insertion and rotation.
