摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain resistivity and prevent the deterioration of a display characteristic due to a voltage drop by forming row electrodes of a dielectric layer and a protection layer within a screen substrate laid via discharge space, and further forming column electrodes on the inner side of a rear substrate so as to intersect the row electrodes. SOLUTION: Row electrodes X and Y adjacent to each other, a wall charge forming dielectric layer 5 and a protection layer 6 are respectively formed on the inner side of a glass substrate 1 at the side of a screen, regarding a pair of glass substrates 1 and 2 laid via discharge space 7. The row electrodes X and Y are formed out of a transparent electrode 4 and a metallic electrode 3. In addition, the metallic electrode 3 has a double layer formed out of aluminum layers 3a and 3b containing the prescribed amount of molybdenum. A column electrode A laid along a direction for crossing the row electrodes X and Y, and a phosphor layer 8 having the prescribed luminescent color are provided on the inner side of the rear side glass substrate 2. Discharge gas containing neon mixed with a small amount of xenon is sealed into the discharge space 7 and discharge cells are formed at the intersections of the column electrode A and the row electrodes X and Y.
