<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge controlling agent that is uniformly dispersed in a toner so as to provide a toner showing a stable amount of charge and capable of providing a high-resolution developed image by making the charge controlling agent include an electron withdrawing substituent, and specifying the particle diameters of the charge controlling agent in the toner. SOLUTION: A charge controlling agent has an electron withdrawing substituent, and the particle diameters of the charge controlling agent in a toner are 1μm or less. Desirably, the charge controlling agent has a cyclodextrine skeleton, and the electron withdrawing group is a residual group having a sulfonate structure. The average particle diameters of the toner are desirably 4.0 to 10μm. The softening temperature of the toner is desirably 95 to 125 deg.C. The charge controlling agent is manufactured from a cyclodextrine derivative with particle diameters of 1cm or less, the cyclodextrine derivative being represented by the formula, in which at least 10% of R is a CH3 SO3 group, a CH3 C6 H4 SO3 group, or a C10 H7 SO3 group, with (n) preferably from 6 to 8.</p> |
