1,223,202. Automatic speed control. EATON YALE & TOWNE Inc. Jan. 2, 1969 [Jan. 2, 1968], No. 25001/70. Divided out of 1, 223, 201. Heading G3R. A press B is maintained in synchronism with a rotating reference standard which may be another press A as described in the main Specification or an electrical analogue. The torque applied to the crank-shaft of press B is a function of the algebraic sum of the signals from a speed reference source 39, from a tachometer 29B whose output varies in amplitude with the speed of press B and from a phase comparator whose output varies in amplitude with the angular displacement between the crank-shaft and the reference standard A and consists of two counters respectively driven by the crank-shaft and standard and means 69 for comparing the instantaneous counts. Switches SWA, SWB driven by the two presses are connected to reset the counters once per revolution.
|
