For example, in the recording device, a 5.25-inch floppy disk drive 1 and a 3.5-inch floppy disk drive 2 are attached to a front bezel 3, drive 2 being pre- connected to drive 1 inside the recording device by a flat cable so that the connection of the device with a host is achieved by connecting drive 1 side to the host. Thus, it is not necessary to connect a cable to each recording medium. Further, it becomes possible to add functions to drive 1 for setting signals for selecting the respective drives and to use drive 1 as the output buffer of the other drive.
