The rifle has at least one ejection mechanism with a tensioner and a tensioning pin (38) in a lock part of the rifle, and an ejector spring (25), a spring lever (30) an ejector pin (40) and a cartridge ejector (50) in the fore end of the rifle stock. The spring lever has a control surface (35) which co-operates with a surface (45) of the ejector pin and has a second control surface (36), which co-operates with the tensioning pin in the lock part. A retaining lever arranged next to the ejector spring moves horizontally but transversely to the firing direction. The retaining lever has a lug and an extension at the rear which co-operates with a surface of the tensioner when the fore end of the stock is tilted and in a position corresponding to the non-released position of the tensioner, so that the lug locks an arm (26) of the ejector spring.
