PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a method to switch freely to a requirement flexibly corresponding to revision of a layout after reading an original image and a requirement that a layout output of an original image of a supplied original is obtained at a high speed. SOLUTION: An image processing unit selects either of a 1st layout mode which lays out an image in the case of storing the image of an original read by an image read part 201 to an image storage part 304 in an electronic sorter part 203 or of a 2nd layout mode which lays out the image in the case of outputting the image of the original read from an image storage part in the electronic sorter part 203 from a printer part 204. The image processing unit is constituted so that the layout processing in the 1st layout mode or the 2nd layout mode based on the result of selection is switched and controlled by a control part in the electronic sorter part 203 under the instruction of a CPU 206.
