PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet exchange, in which a transfer time of a blocking packet transferred among CPUs of the packet exchange is reduced. SOLUTION: An erroneous packet detection function 2a of an input processing CPU 2 detects an erroneous packet among blocking packets received from an input line 100. An information header generating function 2b generates an information header denoting a normal packet based on the result of detection, and an information header provision function 2c adds the information header to the blocking packet. The input processing CPU 2 gives the blocking packet to which the information header has been added to a relay processing CPU 3 as it is. An information header extract function 3a of the relay processing CPU 3 extracts the information header from the blocking packet and a compression re-blocking function 3b deletes the erroneous packet from the blocking packet, based on the information header and applies re-blocking to the result and gives the result to each of output processing CPUs 4-1 to 4-3.
